Season 8 of American Idol begins tonight. Kaylan Loyd is just one of thousnds that shared the same dream - to become the next American Idol. Over the next few weeks and months those illustrious (and notorious) American Idol judges and all of America will determine if indeed Kaylan Loyd becomes the next American Idol. I can't wait to see the outcome.

I thought Kaylan Loyd sounded great and was in fact better than a lot of those other contestants that made it through! Why did Simon stop her? A lot of the contestants were singing off key and I only heard Kaylan go ever so slightly flat on one note. Judging from what I heard that whole night, it sounded to me like most of the contestants were not able to hear themselves on stage and that's why they were singing off key. Adam Lambert was singing slightly sharp, Joanna Pacitti not only forgot the lyrics, but she was singing terribly off key and still made it through! Jasmine's last note was flat. Others who forgot lyrics and sang flat made it too! I don't get it! I just thought I'd give a shout out to Kaylan because I have been reading mixed reviews from AI bloggers, some not so good, and I think it is uncalled for and it was unfair of Simon to stop her and make her feel bad about her performance. She's just a kid, but she really was quite good! Of course, I also think the cruel bloggers are just 'Simon Wannabes". I personally would have liked to have heard Kaylan's earlier auditions as well as some of the other contestants. It's hard to judge a contestant by only 10 seconds of a performance. It seems as though AI showed the same ones over and over again and it would have been better if we could have heard some of the other's auditions instead of watching Tatiana & the bikini girl. Can't believe Tatiana made it over Kaylan Loyd! Lame! We want to throw stuff at the tv when we hear that girl Tatiana laugh... she has got to be the most annoying AI contestant ever!
